The Nevada Conservation League is the independent political voice of Nevada’s conservation community. We work to maintain and enhance the natural character of Nevada and the quality of life for Nevadans through effective advocacy, the election of pro-conservation candidates, and building coalitions. At the center of our work is an acknowledgement that we must be responsible stewards of the land, air, and water that has been cared for by our ancestors. We believe the most effective way to protect Nevada is through strategic planning, effective communication with policymakers, and collaboration with a diverse group of community partners who agree that the burden of climate change is not equally shared.
There are many wonderful non-profit organizations in Nevada that seek to improve the way our natural resources are managed. The staff, board members, and many volunteers of the various non-profit conservation groups in Nevada constitute an informal community of dedicated folks who care about conservation, and who devote their time and energy to making the state a better place to live. What fuels their work is their conviction that they speak for more than themselves and their groups’ members — they speak for the vast majority of Nevada’s citizens, who want a clean environment for themselves and their children. We strive to do all of our work in a way that recognizes and builds a deeper understanding of issues of racial and social justice and in a way that builds a more inclusive organization.
The Nevada Conservation League works to unite these voices to educate Nevadans about important conservation issues and to lay the groundwork for policies that will protect our natural resources. Whether it’s growing Nevada’s clean energy economy, protecting our special places from irresponsible development, or ensuring that our wildlife resources are managed according to scientific principles, you can count on the Nevada Conservation League to be engaged in the fight and to advance the causes that all Nevadans care about.
