This bill creates a new integrated resource planning (IRP) process for gas utilities similar to existing electric utilities, with plans filed every three years detailing projects that gas utilities intend to build. This will provide more transparency on future investments in the gas system by allowing regulators and other stakeholders to assess projects, consider a range of alternatives, and make decisions in the best interest of ratepayers.
Sponsored by Senator Rochelle Nguyen.
